About Us
The Animal Welfare League NSW Hawkesbury Branch promotes responsible pet ownership, including desexing animals before breeding age and microchipping as these measures will help to decrease the large numbers of surrendered, lost and abandoned pets.
Desexing:
If you live in the Hawkesbury area and are a low income earner, pensioner or experiencing financial hardship and require a subsidised desexing voucher for your dog or cat, please CLICK HERE to apply.
How To Get Involved
The Hawkesbury branch is always looking for volunteers to help us care for the pets and their people in the community. If you would like to become involved in helping us to help them you can:
- Become a foster carer. This is one of the most rewarding ways to help cats and kittens as this provides them with a stable home environment where they can learn to trust people while they become used to everyday situations while developing their social skills as they wait for the new forever homes.
- Volunteer your time and skills, there are many ways that you can assist for example, fundraising, administration or providing transportation for our carers and their charges to their appointments
- Donate: As well as cash donations (all donations over $2 are tax-deductible) we are always looking for items associated with caring for animals: such as cat litter trays and litter, blankets and towels for bedding and consumable items of pet foods for cats and kittens
Monthly Meeting
You are welcome to attend our meetings held on the 1st Saturday of each month (except in January) from 11am at 519 George Street, South Windsor.
