Millwright is a stunning grey, long-haired cat with a story of resilience. He and his brother, Carpenter, were heartbreakingly abandoned in a birdcage at the shelter's front gate. For over a week, Millwright was missing, leaving us worried about his safety until we finally found him. Once he was back in our care, we filled his belly and placed him in a loving foster home to help rebuild his confidence and trust.
Understandably, Millwright is still a bit of a nervous nelly. It will take time for him to fully settle into a new home, but he's already made strides in his foster care. He's now feeling safe enough to enjoy the simple pleasures of life, like chin scratches and leisurely exploring the house at his own pace. His foster carer has worked hard to help him feel secure, and while he's made progress, he remains sensitive to change and will need a patient, understanding family to continue building his confidence.
Millwright gets along well with other cats, but he also values his alone time. He shares a special bond with his brother, Carpenter, and can often be found cuddled up with him on their favourite rocking chair.
When it comes to playtime, Millwright shows a surprising playful side, particularly with his laser toy. He has an interest in a wide variety of toys, which is a great way to engage with him and help him feel more at ease.
Millwright needs a quiet, stable home with experienced cat owners who understand the needs of a rescue cat. He would do best in a home without young children, as he's sensitive to loud noises and sudden movements. A calm, patient family who can give him the time and space he needs to settle in at his own pace will be the key to his happiness.
Are you ready to offer Millwright the safe and loving home he needs to continue his journey of healing?
